Militant Homosexual Lobby – Where Did They Go?!

Do you remember the Militant Homosexual Lobby (MHL)? As a young man in the early 1980s, I was introduced to this term as social norms were changing radically then. Now, it seems the social norms of 40 years ago (an entire generation) are no longer normal; they’re even considered abnormal. It appears the MHL has had an adverse effect on social morality. So as the MHL has had an effect on society behind the scenes, where did the MHL go?

The phrase, “militant homosexual lobby” actually began in the late 1970s (NGRAM viewer) and peaked around 2001. It is a term that has largely come into disuse but is still being used today. You may recall another phrase, “acquired immune deficiency syndrome.” AIDS began to be used in the early 1980s at almost the same time MHL was coined. This is interesting in that before AIDS was a term, GRIDS was a term before that.

“Gay related immune deficiency syndrome,” or GRIDS, was the precursor to AIDS. Homosexual advocacy groups (MHL) behind the scenes objected to using this term as it focused on the homosexual community. The use of GRIDS was finally discarded in 1982 when the CDC used the approved term of AIDS for the first time. This was a time when the MHL lobbied to prevent contact tracing of AIDS from gay man to gay man. This sort of thing would seem monstrous today with the COVID-19 virus. But with the powerful MHL lobby, the terms to use and terms of reporting were changed as was the requirement that would curb the spread of disease.

“Gay” itself as a word began to be an antique term in the early 1980s. Widely popular throughout the 19th century, the term ‘gay’ meant happy and carefree. However, in the early 1980s, the term “Gay” referred to people who practiced homosexuality. This is a perversion of the word ‘gay’ and is a misnomer for the disastrous lifestyle that homosexuals have as a result of their life of sin. This is a meme within the LGBTQ community that practicing sexual perversion leads to a happy and carefree life; nothing could be further from the truth.

Another term that appears in the late 1970s and early 1980s is “homophobic.” Although it was never a word before being used by the MHL, it actually means ‘same’ (homo) ‘fear’ (phobic). Of course, the MHL doesn’t mean to portray people who are ‘homophobic’ as having the ‘same fear’ that homosexuals have but it is clearly a ‘non-word’ fabricated to challenge people who object to homosexuality. This isn’t ‘homophobic’ it is a normal reaction in rejection of the perversion of sexual roles.

So clearly there was a beginning to the MHL in the early 1980s as the word analysis demonstrates. Who the MHL were and where they are today is hard to say. But with the cooperative efforts of media, education, politics, and religion, the MHL was well on its way to making changes to societal norms and institutions.

[Other terms that were not in general use before the 1980s, “lesbian” and “cross dresser”. “Transvestite” and “bisexual” also exploded as terms in the 1980s. “Queer” became a word used more than ever before in the 1990s. “Transgender” began to take off as a new word in the 1990s, whereas “metro sexual” became a new term in the early 2000s. And “LGBTQ” wasn’t even a phrase before the year 2000. Words have meaning and the MHL may be tracked through the words they choose to use to describe themselves.]

MHL in the Politics

I recall my introduction to politics in the early 1990s with the MHL in the GOP. They came in the form of Log Cabin Republicans. These were people who did not have a solid background in Christianity (they had a liberal theology) and were likely to have members of their family who reportedly were ‘gay’. In support of their relatives, people who misunderstand the Love of God began to ‘enable’ homosexuals, seeking societal relief for the stigma of being homosexual.

This was also the time after the Reagan Revolution when Lee Atwater was helping GHW Bush get elected. Mr. Atwater said, “we are a party big enough to include a few who might disagree with the rest of us.” This phrase meant to convey the idea that we could focus on issues without trying to drive people away during an election. Although pragmatic in a limited sense (pick your battles) the RNC decided to open the Party up to many people (not a few) who might disagree with the rest of us. This is the beginning of the Big Tent initiative in the Republican Party. Here, the MHL did much damage to the sense of social moral purpose in politics.

Reagan was himself a Libertarian; he was a social conservative, fiscal conservative, defense conservative libertarian. The Party rallied around him as the Reagan Coalition. Atwater’s comment, taken from him after he died, was used to rally people who had a social liberal/fiscal conservative viewpoint. Modern libertarian philosophy is divorced from social/moral conservatism, which is the downfall of both libertarianism and eventually the Republican Party. With social/moral conservatives out of the way or at least ineffective, the MHL could pursue their agenda unimpeded.

Social liberals want an end to the law that prosecutes as criminal the acts of abortion, sodomy, and recreational DRUG ABUSE. Half liberal half conservative this is a political bipolar disorder that represents anarchy instead of liberty. Liberty and responsibility connect but not with modern liberals or libertarians. The genius of America was liberty under law, not liberty without law. And for the MHL to succeed, moral responsibility has to be separated from the rights they claim for being ‘gay.’

The GOP has lost its way under the Big Tent ideology. The idea of a political party is that we are a free association of like-minded people. Opening the doors to many people who disagree with the rest of us is a means of destroying that free association. Politics has been impacted and influenced by the MHL to the point of leaving the GOP without a moral compass.

MHL in the Courts

From my days in the GOP, I heard rumors that various judges on the Court were secretly homosexual. They would keep their issues private so as to blend in with the ‘normal’ crowd. I’ve always wondered what if anything came from people in high government office who were secretly ‘gay’.

Not too long ago, I was in a briefing by a JAG officer who identified a trend in the court system. He said that the Courts were going to change the meaning of the word “sex” as it relates to gender and apply it to sex relationships. That is to say, if someone is of one gender, to suppose that they had an opposite gendered partner would be ‘sex’ discrimination. While this is blatantly absurd, this is exactly where the Court is today. This is another example of MHL influence behind the scenes.

In fact, there are people from the judiciary who have stated that the word ‘sex’ does not mean ‘gender’ but that it has multiple meanings. This is also blatantly false as the word ‘sex’ comes from the Latin word ‘sexus’, which only means gender (male or female). The Court is fabricating principles out of thin air that were not approved by the Legislative powers nor the people.

This behavior is not isolated. Not too long ago the people of many states, including California, said NO to homosexual marriages. Marriage is a God given institution for men and women to join in Holy matrimony. However, the Courts decided to dismiss the will of the American People and the Will of God only to assert their own will on this nation. This is another witness of the MHL running things behind the scenes.

MHL in the Military

Under the Obama/Biden administration, I witnessed a number of flag officers within our nation’s military leaving their office for one reason or another. Many if not all who left were not advocates of nor in favor of the MHL. Having been removed from their post for one reason or another, it appears that those officers who took their place became flag officers having an agreeable view in line with the MHL. As those who disagreed with the MHL left, those who agreed with the MHL took their place. Is there a pattern?

The rules of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell (DADT) were also repealed and in their place the MHL have taken the opportunity to advocate for same sex benefits. People who have no other connection with their ‘partner’ than a relationship involving sodomy are given money. The practice of sodomy in the military, like adultery, should get one expelled regardless of DADT. The MHL seems to have won a victory to undermine the morality of the military.

Robert Gates even said that the changes made in the military were unavoidable. However, the only thing unavoidable was that under his leadership, the military and the Boy Scouts would be susceptible to the MHL. Male on male rapes have increased in the military but they are dismissed as acts of ‘domination’ and not homosexual rape. On the one hand we’re supposed to guard against sexual deviant behavior and then on the other hand we’re supposed to support it? The MHL isn’t in the business of following principles.

MHL and the White House

Recently, President Biden appointed 2 individuals, representative of the LGBTQ community, to be cabinet secretaries. One is a self-styled homosexual and the other a transvestite. These positions were filled not for the ability of the cabinet members but for the supposed diversity they represent with respect to the LGBTQ community in fulfillment of the MHL agenda. Biden even had a press conference where he praised the transvestite community with his Trans Day of Visibility. Here the MHL can clearly be seen influencing the acts of the White House.

The Biden administration’s Department of Homeland Security (and other federal agencies) recently introduced a program to fight against ideologically motivated extremism. Domestic Violent Extremism (DVE) is a term derived from the Obama administration’s CVE (countering violent extremism) agenda. However, instead of combating Islamic terrorism, the new Biden policy is combating political viewpoints counter to their own. Among those groups they intend to defend is the LGBTQ community. But instead of fighting DVE, they are actually enabling one – the MHL.

MHL is a DVE! With violent attacks against Christians and Churches in San Francisco against those who disagree with them; with a refusal to conduct contact tracing to limit the spread of the AIDS virus endangering us all; with an advocacy to open female locker rooms, showers, and bathrooms to male cross dressers who may abuse the women/girls; with an attack on the moral institution of the Boy Scouts with homosexual predators entering their ranks; with increased homosexual assaults on military personnel; the MHL represents a DVE that should be countered (CVE) through peaceful and legal means.

Yet the Biden Administration, filled with the folly of leftist philosophy, cannot recognize that what they are doing is attacking Christians and Conservatives who want to preserve our society, our morals, our traditions, and our way of life as normal for ourselves and future generations.

God and Government

Government is God’s idea; not for salvation but for limiting the behavior of mankind that is characterized as criminal. God, apart from government, has given us salvation through His Son, Jesus Christ, for the forgiveness of sin. Yes, homosexuality and the entire spectrum of LGBTQ perversions are sin. There is no foundation from God for making sin legal in government;

YOU CANNOT LEGISLATE IMMORALITY!

The purpose of government is to limit criminal behavior, not enable it.

The forgiveness of sin is what people in the LGBTQ community need. But perhaps the greatest evil ever perpetrated by the MHL is the thought that homosexual behavior is normal, healthy, and ‘gay.’ Nothing could be further from the truth. These people are enslaved to their sin without liberty. Practicing sin is not a path to salvation. Sin doesn’t lead to liberty but to bondage. Homosexuals don’t need enabling, they need rescuing.

Forgiveness of sin is what the Christian community is all about. And conservatives stand for religious freedom, justice, and the freedom to do what is right - the Patriot’s Dream of 1776. The freedom to practice what we preach is in jeopardy as reprobate minds struggle to understand the desire to live righteous and free; they attack us for it.

Finally, the forgiveness of sin is given to each of us by asking God to forgive us of our sin, like homosexuality, sodomy, etc. We ask, not based on our goodness, but on the goodness of Jesus Christ who gave His life for us on the Cross. We can ask God, according to His Will, to forgive us and He will!

God, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, please forgive me of my sin, which I admit I have done. I ask this based upon the work of Jesus on the Cross. Please take my life and make it what you want it to be. I surrender myself to you, to the Lordship of Jesus, and to the leadership of the Holy Spirit. Thank you for your love. Thank you for loving me. Thank you for restoring me. And thank you for molding me into the image of your Son, Christ Jesus. Please help me to be more like Him every day.
