IDF Flooding the Gazan Tunnels with Sea Water
The Palestinian authority called Hamas has declared the expulsion of Jews from the River (Jordan) to the Sea (Mediterranean) in their merciless attacks against Jews in Eretz Israel (land of Israel). This expression, “from the River to the Sea,” has been used in a global jihad seen domestically as civil jihad (see previous blog). While some academics fail to see the terrorism and genocidal call this makes on their own campuses, the rest of us understand in plain terms that this is a call for the elimination of the Jews in Judea and elsewhere.
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) has fought vigorously to eliminate the militants of Hamas in the Gaza strip. As the Palestinian authority (Hamas) holds Palestinians hostage so that they may not leave, the IDF must dodge the civilian population to reach the militant population. As is typical of terrorists and cowards, Hamas is hiding behind the skirts of women and children to secure themselves in the fight they began on 7 October 2023.
One approach that is being taken by these cowards is to hide in tunnels beneath Gaza city and the region. Not just hiding but hiding under hospitals and other targets with innocent Palestinian civilians overhead. In response, the IDF has begun a campaign to flood the tunnels with seawater, meaning they are using the water of the Mediterranean Sea to fill the voids below Gaza.
While this tactic is indiscriminate in its effect, this method of warfare will result in the likelihood that people will abandon the tunnels before they all drown; but that is up to Hamas. Likely, the first to leave the tunnels are thousands of rats who call the Gazan tunnels their home. Then hostages may find their way out depending on the caprice of their captors. And finally, the captors may brave the light of the sun after having made the netherworld their home.
You may recall in history a similar situation in the saga of Masada 2000 years ago. Jews in Israel (yes this was their homeland; go figure) were held up in a mountain citadel in a battle with the Romans. Stores of supplies were held in their citadel and they could survive for a very long time despite the siege of the Roman army against them. Undaunted, the Roman soldiers built a huge ramp to the top of the mountain and slew all of the Jews that were there.
This presents a picture where the Jewish patriots sought refuge on high whereas the terrorists of Hamas sought their refuge in the nether regions below Gaza. The Jews looked to heaven while Hamas, born of hell, looked below for their comfort and relief. And whereas the Romans built a ramp to the top of the citadel at Masada, the IDF is pouring a river into the Gazan tunnels from the Mediterranean Sea; turning the sea into a river. From the River to the Sea is the cry of Hamas terrorists. Turning the Sea into a River is the reply of the IDF. May God grant Israel and the Palestinians freedom from their Hamas oppressors.
And always,
Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem
