Mr. Trump Mrs. Harris
So I get it. Trump beat the entire team of candidates in the Republican Primary before it was over and ran against Biden as the two were the presumptive nominees of their Party. However, neither Biden nor Trump went to their conventions before their landmark debate. Now, Biden resigned and Trump was selected by convention to be the Republican Party’s nominee for President of the United States. Now, it’s the Democrats turn to select their candidate for President in their convention. But who might that be? Do we already know? Will the Democrats actually practice democracy?
Kamala Harris is not the Democrat nominee for President until the Democrat Party nominates and elects her in their national convention – fact! The delegates and alternates for Biden will populate the convention and likely have their say at least in the first round of nominations and votes – fact! They may in fact elect her in the first round. But don’t you think these delegates should have the option to nominate other candidates? Of course they should – fact!
Just because Mrs. Harris is the Vice President of the United States doesn’t mean she is the nominee after President Biden resigned from the campaign. Was her name ever on a ballot for President in the Democrat Primary? In fact, the ticket for the Democrat Party was only for Mr. Biden and not for Mrs. Harris. Mr. Trump didn’t select Mike Pence (a good choice) to be his running mate in the 2024 election but Mr. Vance. Vice Presidential nominees are not selected until the party convention. So, unless her name was on the ticket, Mrs. Harris cannot be assumed to be the defacto nominee of the Party. Where’s the vote; where’s democracy in the Democrat Party?
Every delegate for Biden should go back to the voters who elected them and hold a caucus in the precinct or district. This could take one to a few hours and can be done easily online with Skype, Zoom, or some other online collaboration software; not hard. Then, they can accurately represent the people in each of their districts nationwide. Anyone can be selected in these precinct/district caucuses but it is highly unlikely this will get done in the Democrat Party as their senior leadership will rule against it. This is a diversification of power and not a centralization of power as is required by Democrat rule. Perhaps the democratic spirit will reign in the hearts and minds of the Democrat delegates/alternates and they will accomplish this simple but important task of democracy all on their own.
Further, why are the Democrats so scared of their presumptive nominee that they are scrubbing her record? Let her record and rhetoric stand out proudly. She is in favor of:
Defunding the Police,
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI),
Open Borders,
Free Insurance for Illegal Immigrants,
All Abortions,
Socialized Medicine,
Progressive/Socialism, and a
Veggie America!
These things should scare anyone. [I didn’t climb to the top of the food chain just to become a vegetarian!]
Seriously, let’s make noise about her record as a criminal prosecutor. She was a part of the movement to release criminals before they finished serving their sentence. As some are making noise that this is an election between a Prosecutor and a Felon, will Mrs. Harris pardon Mr. Trump who’s crimes were based on trumped up charges? Taking people to court to win elections is certainly not how democracy is supposed to work in America.
And where is the democracy in securing the vote wrt to ballot security? Do Democrats intend to continue the discredited practice of ballot harvesting? So much fraud has been committed with fraudulent ballots (all to the perceived success of the Democrat Party) that any attempt to curtail this practice is called voter disenfranchisement by the Democrats. Call it what you will but it should be illegal to cheat the vote. Democrats, however, are confident they can continue to cheat the vote and win.
Democracy in America is under attack by Democrats. President Trump was impeached twice, dragged through multiple courts on spurious charges, some of which have been dismissed. They didn’t think he should have been elected President in 2016 and have punished him for winning a democratic victory as a Republican. They simply refuse to accept the decision of the American people!
[President Biden refused to obey the Supreme Court ruling against him as he disagreed with it. He exercised an autocratic rule of power with Executive Privilege. Then, Mr. Biden criticizes the Court ruling in favor of Mr. Trump, because he thought they were giving the Office of President too much power to do whatever an autocrat might want to do. Biden got Borked, dismisses strict constructionist (original intent) legal thinking on the Court, trashes Marbury vs Madison and Judicial Review. Talk about Presidential abuse of power].
Will the Democrats give illegal aliens the right to vote along with their illegal drivers licenses? The Democrats should be careful here. Latinos typically vote Pro-Life and the Democrats are decidedly Pro-Abortion. The Latino (read Catholic) vote will likely go against them. [End All Elective Abortions.]
And who is it that doesn’t understand that any application of Progressivism in government and Socialism in power violates the Constitution of the United States of America. Our free market democracy and economy (Democratic Capitalism) cannot embrace the ideas of freedom in government and the marketplace at the same as progressivism/socialism that embraces centralized power away from the people and controls the marketplace for redistribution. Progressive Socialists have to destroy the U.S. Constitution and our democracy/economy in order to achieve their stated goals. There is no way around this!
Anyone who holds to progressive or socialist views, who gives their oath of office to uphold the Constitution, is simply lying to the public. They will dismiss the Constitution when it doesn’t serve their political agenda. They will lie to the people to get their vote; they will lie to America when they take their oath of office; and they lie about obeying the Constitution when they find the Court is contrary to their political agenda.
This isn’t the Democrat Party of my dad, a dyed in the wool Democrat who revered President Roosevelt and Jimmy Carter. My dad and mother were both Democrats and the two greatest people I ever knew. But this isn’t the Party that they respected and I followed in 1980 when I voted for Jimmy Carter to become President (the first time I could vote). Now, I am a Republican since voting for Ronald Reagan in 1984. I’m a part of the Reagan Democrats, the swing vote that is necessary for electoral victory, and a part of the Reagan Coalition (Encourage all conservatives from all political walks of life to vote Republican). I will continue to revere my parents; but sadly, the Party they knew no longer exists.
Again, is it too much to ask the Democrats to apply democracy. Kamala Harris is not the nominee until her convention nominates and votes for her. We’ll see if democracy has any room in the Democrat Party when history teaches us that POWER is the only thing they are really interested in. Maybe the delegates to the Democrat National Convention will vote someone else in, perhaps Mr. Kennedy? There hasn’t been a Kennedy on the Democrat ticket in 60 years. Maybe then they can reach back into their old bag of tricks and put dead people back on the registry of qualified voters.
Addendum
I once tried to open the door to get the data from the vote in Pennsylvania’s 2020 ballots. I was an advocate for the Independent Tally of the Vote 30 years ago. I still want to recount the vote to see if by forensic examination, I can find any fraudulent activity associated with the vote tally. Sadly, the door is closing rapidly. If we’re going to stop election fraud, this needs to be done.
